Dr.Buho Bundle

Get a Mac cleaner, NTFS manager, and app launcher replacement in one lightweight, native bundle

Dr.Buho Bundle — Hands-on Review

I spent time testing the Dr.Buho Bundle, a focused suite of three lightweight macOS utilities: BuhoCleaner (storage cleaner and optimizer), BuhoLaunchpad (restores a classic, full-screen app launcher), and BuhoNTFS (read/write NTFS support for external drives). The bundle is designed to solve three common pain points: reclaiming disk space, bringing back a familiar Launchpad experience on newer macOS releases, and enabling native-like NTFS access for Windows-formatted drives.

TL;DR

  • BuhoCleaner: fast one-click cleanup, large-file and duplicate finders, app uninstaller, startup manager, and a few system utilities (reindex Spotlight, flush DNS, free RAM, secure shredder).
  • BuhoLaunchpad: restores grid-based Launchpad UI with fluid animations, gesture and hot-corner activation, customizable layout and folders, instant search and layout scenes.
  • BuhoNTFS: mounts NTFS drives for full read/write access, shows mount path and permissions, and supports high-speed transfers with simple drive management.
  • Strengths: native-feeling macOS apps, clean UI, focused feature sets, and straightforward workflows.
  • Caveats: small team approach means no bloated suite — if you need system-wide live metrics or advanced system diagnostics you’ll need complementary tools.

What I liked

  • Practical, focused features: Each app does a few things very well rather than trying to be an all-in-one. BuhoCleaner’s Flash Clean and Disk Space Analyzer are quick ways to reclaim obvious gigabytes of junk without digging through folders. The duplicate scanner and large-file browser are especially useful for hitting the biggest space wins first.
  • Clean uninstallation: The app uninstaller in BuhoCleaner removes leftover support files and preferences effectively, which is helpful for stubborn apps. Startup and login items management is intuitive and made my boot times feel snappier.
  • Lightweight, native UI: All three apps feel like they belong on macOS — animations and controls are smooth and responsive. BuhoLaunchpad’s gestures and full-screen launcher bring back a familiar, polished app-launch experience that many users miss on recent macOS versions.
  • NTFS that just works: BuhoNTFS mounts Windows-formatted drives with read/write capability without reformatting. It provides useful drive info (mount path, filesystem, permissions) and handled large transfers reliably in my testing.
  • Useful extras: Reindexing Spotlight, DNS flush, and a secure shredder are handy utilities in BuhoCleaner for maintaining system health without digging into Terminal.

What could be better

  • Limited live system metrics: If you want detailed, continuous system activity dashboards (CPU history, per-process IO graphs), BuhoCleaner focuses on actionable one-off tools rather than ongoing monitoring. Complementing it with a dedicated system monitor app is recommended for power users.
  • Small feature gap for specialists: The bundle targets mainstream users, freelancers, and small teams. Advanced enterprise management features, deep forensic cleanup, or mobile device repair tools are outside its scope.
  • Platform support notes: BuhoLaunchpad is aimed at restoring the Launchpad experience for modern macOS releases (support for certain newer macOS versions is explicitly noted), while BuhoCleaner and BuhoNTFS support a broad range of macOS versions. Check compatibility if you run a very old or very new macOS build.

Performance and compatibility

  • BuhoCleaner supports macOS versions going back to older releases and runs very quickly during Flash Clean and duplicates scanning. The Disk Space Analyzer gives a clear visualization and lets you act on large items immediately.
  • BuhoLaunchpad restores smooth, pixel-perfect animations and supports gestures and hot corners; it’s responsive even with many apps installed.
  • BuhoNTFS installs a driver/bridge layer for NTFS access; once mounted, read/write performance is comparable to other consumer NTFS solutions and handled large file copies without corruption in my tests.
  • Licensing is straightforward: licenses are tied to a single active Mac at a time but can be transferred following their deactivation steps, which is convenient when you get a new machine.

Support and maintenance

  • The developer team is small but provides direct support and regular updates. The product messaging emphasizes ongoing updates for included apps. Support channels are available and responses are prompt based on the developer’s presence and stated support hours.

Who should consider this

  • Freelancers, solopreneurs, and small teams who want light, focused tools to keep Macs tidy and functional without adding bulky utilities.
  • Users who frequently exchange drives with Windows machines and need reliable NTFS read/write access.
  • People who prefer a familiar Launchpad experience and appreciate native-feeling UI/gestures rather than heavy customization suites.

Final verdict

The Dr.Buho Bundle is a pragmatic set of macOS utilities that address real, everyday friction points: cluttered storage, missing Launchpad behavior on newer macOS releases, and NTFS drive incompatibility. Each app is intentionally focused, performs its core jobs well, and feels native to macOS. If you want lightweight tools that quietly improve your Mac experience without becoming another system hog, this bundle is worth trying. If you require detailed continuous system monitoring or enterprise-grade features, you’ll need additional tools alongside it. Overall, a solid, well-executed utility suite for typical Mac users.
